A Dealer's Guide to Listing on Motor Mania Club

Motor Mania Club lets car and motorcycle dealers show their stock to buyers across the USA through a business storefront. This guide explains how the account works, how to set up listings that attract buyers, and what to keep in mind as a dealer.

Key takeaways

  • Choose the dealer account that matches your stock: car dealer, or motorcycle, ATV and UTV dealer.
  • Dealers need an active subscription, and a dealer's listings go live straight away.
  • Complete photos, prices, descriptions and your business profile, since buyers compare dealers quickly.
  • Answer buyer messages and calls fast, and keep your stock up to date.

Who can list as a dealer?

Any licensed business that sells vehicles can open a dealer account. When you register you choose what you are: Car Dealer, or Motorcycle / ATV and UTV Dealer. Other business types, such as spare part suppliers, garage equipment suppliers, service providers, motorsport businesses, car rental dealers and insurance companies, have their own account types and appear in their own sections.

How do dealer accounts differ from private sellers?

Private sellers list for free, up to 3 vehicles of each type at a time, and each listing is approved by our team before it appears. Dealers work differently: a dealer needs an active subscription to add vehicles, and a dealer's listings go live straight away. The subscription details and options are shown in your account when you subscribe.

How do I set up my account and storefront?

Setting up takes a few steps:

  1. Register and choose the dealer account type that matches your business.
  2. Complete your business profile: business name, address, phone number, website and a short description of your dealership. This is what buyers see on your storefront page.
  3. Activate your subscription from your account.
  4. Add your vehicles from your dealer dashboard (My Garage), with photos, price and details.

How do I prepare listings that attract buyers?

Buyers compare many listings, so complete ones win. For each vehicle:

  • Photos: clear daylight photos of all sides, the interior, the dashboard and any flaws.
  • Price: a real, current price in dollars, close to the market. Check similar listings in the cars or motorcycles section.
  • Details: year, make, model, mileage, VIN, condition, options and service history.
  • Description: short and factual: what the vehicle is, its history and what is included.

How do buyers contact me, and how fast should I reply?

Buyers can call, message on WhatsApp or send a quote request from the listing page. Fast, helpful replies make a difference: aim to answer the same day, share extra photos on request, and be clear about price, fees and availability. A good response also keeps your storefront's reputation strong.

How can I get more visibility?

Keep your storefront complete and your stock current: remove sold vehicles promptly and add new arrivals. Add all your business details so buyers can trust you. You can also look at the advertising options on the Advertise page, including featured placement for businesses. Share your storefront link on your website and social channels so buyers can find your stock in one place.

What rules should dealers keep in mind?

Keep your listings accurate, with honest descriptions and real prices. In most states a dealer needs a dealer licence, so make sure yours is in order. Dealers in the USA who sell used vehicles generally must post an FTC Buyers Guide on each used car, which says whether it is sold with a warranty or "as is" (the Used Car Rule does not apply in Maine and Wisconsin, which have their own rules). The FTC's dealer guide explains the details.
